About
About Better Wings:
“Better Wings” is a blog dedicated to the discussion of marketing and management strategies of airlines around the globe; it covers trends and issues that affect airlines big and small: from legacy airlines to LCCs and niche operators.
“Better Wings” aims to stimulate discussion and exchange of ideas among aviation professionals, enthusiasts and the traveling public, in turn, provide actionable insights that enable airlines to fly higher, further, better, safer and more profitably.
Areas of focus for this site include but not limited to:
- Airline Marketing / Branding /Management Strategy. This includes airline marketing environment analysis, airline product planning and positioning, airline advertising and communication strategies and much more.
- Airline Web Strategy. The internet has forever changed the dynamics between airlines and their suppliers and customers, safe to say that without the web, some airline business models wouldn’t have been possible. However, most airlines don’t even come close to harness the power of the web to take control of their distribution channels, customer service channels and marketing and communications channels. The site will explore topic such as using the internet to lower airline distribution costs and leveraging social media to engage passenger, among other things.
- Emerging aviation markets, especially the China Market. China’s air traffic has maintained an average annual growth rate of 18% since 1980, almost double the country’s GDP growth rate and three times the world’s average air traffic growth rate during this same period, however, outside the country, there is not much discussion in the aviation circle on how to collaborate with, participate and invest in the fast growing airline industry in China. This site aims to fill that void.
- Create an airline industry professional community.
